Business post & ad policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
Beta draft: operator details are being finalised and this text is pending legal review.
Business posts let local businesses reach the people nearby. They're always clearly labelled “Ad”, show the business's name, and explain that they're shown because of the viewer's area.
Targeting
Posts are matched only by area: the business chooses a reach, and the post is shown to people whose device is inside it. We don't build profiles, and we never target by sensitive characteristics, behaviour or age.
Welcome
- Restaurants, cafés and bars (responsible mentions of alcohol), shops and markets.
- Hair, beauty and nail studios; therapeutic, sports and wellness massage; gyms and studios.
- Local services, events, venues, culture and accommodation.
Not allowed
- Adult or sexual services, including suggestive “massage” offers, escorting and dating services.
- Gambling, weapons, drugs (including cannabis and prescription medicines), tobacco and vapes.
- Unproven health, medical or financial claims; loans, crypto, MLM and get-rich-quick schemes.
- Misleading prices, impersonating another brand, or anything that breaks the community rules.
Review
Each post is screened automatically and then reviewed by a person before it goes live, usually within a day. If we don't approve a post, we tell you why. Posts run for one to seven days from approval and can be withdrawn at any time. We may remove a post that receives valid reports.
Pricing
Business posts are free during the beta. If paid placement is introduced later, it will be clearly announced first.
